Statement on Chung Moo Organization from Former

Hello. I have spent a good amount of time in and out of Chung Moo.
Currently, I am studying Shaolin Kung fu and have no plans to returne
to John C.'s group.
I do agree with the viewpoints of most former students on all points
except the actual training. My experience with the group fostered
a strong interest in martial art history. Through my studies, I
believe I have found where the arts that comprise Chung Moo come
from. The long intense holding postures are not a form of brainwashing
in proper hands; they are actually time honored training methods
of the Shaolin Temple, particularly the Shaolin Louhan style. I
myself have received great benefit from this practice, both the
Chung Moo versions and the authentic Shaolin movements.
The bagua that they [Chung Moo] teach is NOT from the Han dynasty,
but from the 1800's. It was taught by Dong Hichuan and taught to
the royal guard in the house of prince Wang Su. Any one who wishes
to get the authentic bagua training would be best advisesed
to avoid Chung Moo and seek out a qualified Shaolin and/or Bagua
Master. They are here in this country and can be found with a little
effort. I have done this myself and I can assure everyone that believes
that only John C. knows what he is doing is merely believing a lie.
The rest of the world is not watered down, as they claim; in fact,
almost ANY good Kung Fu or Chinese school can give you as good (or
in my case better) training than Chung Moo. They [Chung Moo] did
have a great physical training program, but I have found that their
self-defense has a lot to be desired.
Anyway, I have much more to say, including my observations on the
progress of a Chung Moo school that broke away from the [national]
group. I have been watching them for a long time now--they are making
progress, but they are still very programmed.
Please contact me with your input and any ideas you might have.
I have interviewed others and I believe that the former students
are stronger than the current ones. It is our job to help the ones
still trapped to see the light and come out of the fog. If anyone
in the Chicago area wishes to contact me, I would love to hear from
you. I am also looking for training partners to work out my new
movement, as well as the old Chung Moo stuff.
