Description of the Group:

The Emissaries is a Christ-based new age group. They claim that they are non-denominational as the Christian church sects are not accurate in the way they depict Christ or his lessons or his death. They teach that people should practice oneness techniques with the life current (which is vibrational) and be still. The mind should be silent to receive the inner word from God; therefore, the mind should not do what it thinks because those thoughts, unless they are guided from within, are the devil working through you. Lots of fear and persuasion use here. The Emissaries believe that their way is the ONLY way for people to be saved from the hell on earth today, and that you can be redeemed while you live (only through their methods of course).

Behaviors: 1. Emissaries were taught to only associate with other Emissaries, either on-site at an Emissary center or if you lived long distance from one, then you should live an isolated life and only connect with your center for all communications.

Members were taught to give at least 10% of their finances to the Emissaries, and that they should give their donation monthly. Through the years (since 1932) many members gave more than their 10%--family inheritances, trust funds, etc. were given over to the accounting office, all to the detriment of the members.

Regarding leisure activities: those who excelled in the arts were treated poorly because their passion to create needed to be tempered so that they would reveal only loving, Emissary-based artistic pieces. Only those who did so were granted the prestigious honor of being able to devote one or two hours a week to creating their art. As more members became aware of how to get attention to their work, and as they began to create art that reflected the Emissary's way then huge conferences began to come together yearly, and those who were chosen by the leaders as "true artists" were given leadership roles within the group.

To numbers 2 - 8, all of these were true. Very rigid Information: All of these were true. The ways chosen to effect these lies were indoctrinated as part of the basic Emissary way. There is so much to say here, I could write pages about it. Suffice it to say that all of this was used and is still used today.

Thought: All of this was used and underscored on a daily basis.

Emotional: The Emissaries did not promote taking poison to kill oneself but that the world was going to end and soon (it's always soon). All of this was true and is still being practiced today.
