In the end of 2005 the International Churches of Christ severed ties (PDF) with founder Kip McKean.

Kip McKean now runs the Portland Church of Christ.

Currently a number of ICOC churches are affiliated with the Kip McKean branch, others with the ICOC, while yet others have made no public statement as to their affiliation.

In early 2007 Kip McKean founded the International Christian Churches.
