I urge you to please stop and reconsider appearing
at a Moon organized and funded event. Why should you give up such
a substantial amount of money? Who cares if you just come, give
a nice talk, take a few photos, shake a few hands and leave?
The public cares and so should you! How could you
give away your own reputation and respectability? For money? I cannot
believe that this is so.
I prefer to believe that you were deceived into this
situation and used. I know the M.O.. I too was deceived. Only that
was in February 1974. There was no public information available
then. I was pressured to drop out of college, cut off from my family
and friends, and work full time recruiting (deceiving) and indoctrinating
new members.
Since then, there have been hundreds of major news
articles done on Sun Myung Moon and his international empire. There
has also been at least 8 books written by former members of this
group, including my own Combatting Cult Mind Control (Park St. Press,

by a Moonie attorney regarding the use of excerpts of quotes taken
directly from Master Speaks. Therefore, I was advised by my attorneys

Please do not give respectability to a self-proclaimed
Messiah (an ex-felon) who thinks that an ''automatic theocracy''
should be used to govern the world (with himself the king, of course).
Please consider the thousands of families whose lives have been

Mrs. Moon accused her husband of repeatedly beating
her, threatening her life, engaging in extramarital affairs, having
an alcohol and cocaine problem, and said that she was going public

Please Mr. President, don't betray our country's
belief that freedom of religion requires freedom of mind (informed
consent, free will and ethical responsibility). If Moonies want
to believe that Moon is the Messiah, that is their right. If Moon
uses deception and mind control to MAKE people believe he is the
Messiah, then he undermines the spirit of our law. In fact Moon
believes that democracy is evil, and seeks to take over our way
of life. He wants to institute a world society based on Korean culture
and literally teaches that Koreans are the spiritual master race.
In this new world order, there is no free choice. I bet you could
not even imagine living in a world where your spouse is selected
for you, and you have to get permission from your superiors to be
sexual. That is what it is like to be a Moonie.
Dr. Horowitz wrote a book in the early 1980's called
Science, Sin and Scholarship and argued powerfully why it was unethical
for academics to attend Moon sponsored science conferences.
It is essential that people stand up and oppose Moon's
