By training, I am a lawyer. I have lived in America with my family
for some years. I am engaged in cognitive research and the comparative
analysis of spiritual cultures. I do consulting work.
Approximately 10-12 years ago, living in Novosibirsk, I carried
out seminars and gave lectures on the psychological aspects of shamanism
and ancient spiritual cultures. I included additional information
in lectures, from linguistics up to healing traditions of native
peoples as always trusted, that the information should be accessible
to each person. One of the attendants to my lectures was Kostja
Rudnev who was invited by his brother Sergey.
Kostja had been dismissed from the army, with a certain mental
diagnosis. I am inclined to think that he had been seriously psychologically
injured during childhood, and this deformed his development.
He had been obviously badly formed, but had one feature: he perceived
the information he received literally (against our usual understanding
through filters of symbols and metaphors). Therefore he accepted
literally many abstract ideas, as instructions to action.
In such rather primitive way, Rudnev has constructed a “
system of belief ”, based on deformed ideas and not on his
own ideas. Later, presenting himself as spiritual teacher, he organized
around himself a group.
He never had any relation to my work, my expeditions, my researches
and seminars. Nevertheless, he considered himself my pupil, and
at our rare communications, thanked me for the information received
at my lectures.
Later I found out that Rudnev organized not a spiritual research
center, but a totalitarian sect, with a cult, under the names of
Shri of Avatars Mooney, guru Sotitdonandana.i etc.. That he uses
names appreciated by many people: the Christ, the Buddha, Moses,
Mohammed, etc., declaring that they have appointed him the savior
of the world.
I was afflicted, but not surprised (already knowing his false use
of the names of Christ and the Buddha) that he also uses my name
on completely false grounds.
I have learned that Rudnev began to promote himself as a spiritual
prophet (that returns us to a trauma of his childhood and the mental
diagnosis of doctors).
Unfortunately, many people fall for his impudent lie. Many of them
sincerely want to find spiritual forces and knowledge that will
change their life and will make them happy. This sincere desire
renders people vulnerable for manipulation. False saviors use normal
human qualities for their purposes and their ability makes people
trust them.
Recently, Kostja Rudnev wrote some letters (on e-mail) asking me
to present myself in his "spiritual school " in Europe
and America. I have unequivocally answered, that my organization
and I only support authentic spiritual teachers, whose life reflects
pure motivations (the orthodox monk, Buryat the llama or the Yakut
shaman). That I do not think that Is his case and that I think he
does not deserve to call himself a spiritual teacher and have advised
him to stop sectarian activity; to engage himself in useful business:
self-education and work at a factory.
He is a very artful guy. His most important claim Is that he considers
himself the owner of spiritual knowledge. With it he involves people.
He claims two basic spheres of knowledge: yoga and shamanism. Believe
me, his knowledge in yoga does not possess sufficient breadth and
has no uniqueness. Rudnev had no authentic teachers of yoga who
could initiate him in this system. All his information comes from
accessible books. He tried to get my approval of the thought about
" the shamanic doctrine " he has developed. Everything
that he has invented is a deformed interpretation. I have listed
to him a set of mistakes into which he falls, muddling the Altay
traditional outlook.
Some time back, I received letters from Europe asking my opinion
on Shri Mooney's to Avatar. I answered, that he is not a real teacher
and that he does not represent any real tradition, and that his
organization is a totalitarian sect. Probably due to that, Rudnev
began to spread false rumors about me. I have kept letters where
he tried to blackmail me.
I always had compassion for Koste Rudnev, as I have for any person
deprived of destiny. I advised him to study and to be truthful in
what he undertakes. I never was seriously interested in his activity
and until today, am not part or endorse the contents of his sectarian
activity.
Kostja Rudnev has evolved from psychologically injured young man,
to a spiritually crippled man whose tool is to lie.
